Elbit Systems ist einer der drei großen Rüstungskonzerne Israels. Er produziert u.a. Überwachungs-und Spionage-Software, Panzer, Überwachungs- und Kampfdrohnen und Raketen. Am internationalen Rüstungsmarkt bewirbt er seine tödlichen Produkte mit dem Hinweis sie seien "im Kampf erprobt". Gemeint ist damit vor allem die jahrzehntelange brutale Unterdrückung des Freiheitswillens des palästinensischen Volkes. Natürlich haben Elbit-Produkte auch großen Anteil am aktuellen genozidalen Rachefeldzug des zionistischen Staates gegen die Bevölkerung in Gaza.
Die Grazer Wechselseitige Versicherung AG hatte ein Aktienpaket in der Höhe von 134.000 € bei Elbit investiert. Im Rahmen der diesjährigen "Israeli Apartheid Week" nahmen die Steirische Friedensplattform und Palästina Solidarität Steiermark mit dem Vorstand Kontakt auf. Als Ergebnis eines Emailverkehrs und eines atmosphärisch guten Gesprächs konnten wir erreichen, dass die in der Steiermark stark verwurzelte Aktiengesellschaft ihr Investment stilllegte. Unseres Wissens ist das das erste österreichische Unternehmen, dass aus politisch-ethischen Gründen Kapital aus dem international zunehmend unter Kritik stehenden Apartheid-Staat abzieht.
Wir freuen uns darüber und hoffen, dass andere österreichische Firmen diesem Beispiel folgen und ihre Komplizenschaft mit Israels Apartheid- und Kolonialsystem beenden.
Die international agierende BDS-Bewegung will mit friedlichen Mitteln Israel dazu bringen die Besatzung zu beenden und seine völkerrechtlichen Verpflichtungen einzuhalten. Die drei Buchstaben stehen für Boycott, Desinvestment/Kapitalabzug, Sanktionen. Wir unterstützen diese Bewegung.
Wir fordern Österreichs Parlament, Regierung und Wirtschaftsunternehmungen auf Investitionen in den israelischen Militär- und Technologiesektor ebenso unterbinden, wie den Export von Rüstungskomponenten an Israels mächtigen militärisch-industriellen Komplex. Siemens liefert die Verkehrsüberwachung für die Straßen zu den jüdischen Kolonialsiedlungen in der Westbank. Die Firma Rotax, eine Tochter des Kanadischen Bombardier-Konzerns in Gunskirchen bei Wels, liefert Flugmotoren für Israels Drohnen. Und umgekehrt will der Rüstungskonzern Israel Aerospace Industries/IAI das geplante zigmilliarden €uro teure europäische Raketenabwehr- und Angriffsystem Sky Shield mit seinen Langstreckenraketen Arrow 3 ausstatten.
Fragen Sie bitte bei Ihrer Bank, bei Ihrer Versicherung und Ihrer privaten Pensionsversicherungsgesellschaft nach, ob sie ohne Ihr Wissen Ihr Geld in Israel veranlagt hat.
Auch durch bewußten Konsum kann jede/r Einzelne einen Beitrag leisten. McDonalds Israel versorgt die Israelischen Besatzungssoldaten mit kostenlosen Mahlzeiten. Ein Verzicht auf McDonalds-Burger ist ein sinnvoller Akt der Solidarität. Der Konzern Hewlett Packard rüstet die Besatzungsarmee mit seinen technischen Produkten aus. Vermeiden Sie den Kauf von hp-Druckern. In österreichs Supermärkten finden sich oft Südfrüchte aus Israel, z.B. Datteln und Avocados. Alle Importwaren aus Israel sind an der Barcode-Zahl 729 zu erkennen.
Boykott und Kapitalabzug waren wichtige gewaltfreie Hebel der internationalen Anti-Apartheid-Bewegung zur Überwindung des Rassismus in Südafrika. Wenn wir entschlossen solidarisch handeln wird uns das auch im Fall Israel gelingen!

Victory: GRAWE withdraws money from Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit
Elbit Systems is one of Israel's three major defense companies. Among other things, it produces surveillance and espionage software, tanks, surveillance and combat drones and missiles. It advertises its lethal products on the international arms market with the claim that they are "battle-tested". This refers above all to the decades of brutal suppression of the Palestinian people's desire for freedom. Of course, Elbit products also play a major role in the current genocidal vendetta of the Zionist state against the population in Gaza.
Grazer Wechselseitige Versicherung AG had invested a share package of €134,000 in Elbit. As part of this year's "Israeli Apartheid Week", the Styrian Peace Platform and Palestine Solidarity Styria contacted the Board of Directors. As a result of an email correspondence and an atmospheric conversation, we were able to persuade the public limited company, which has strong roots in Styria, to close its investment. As far as we know, this is the first Austrian company to withdraw capital from the apartheid state, which is coming under increasing international criticism, for political and ethical reasons.
We are pleased about this and hope that other Austrian companies will follow this example and end their complicity with Israel's apartheid and colonial system.
The internationally active BDS movement wants to use peaceful means to persuade Israel to end the occupation and comply with its obligations under international law. The three letters stand for boycott, divestment/capital withdrawal, sanctions. We support this movement.
We call on Austria's parliament, government and business enterprises to stop investing in the Israeli military and technology sector as well as the export of defense components to Israel's powerful military-industrial complex. Siemens supplies the traffic control systems for the roads leading to the Jewish colonial settlements in the West Bank. Rotax, a subsidiary of the Canadian Bombardier Group in Gunskirchen near Wels, supplies aircraft engines for Israel's drones. And conversely, the arms company Israel Aerospace Industries/IAI wants to equip the planned European missile defense and attack system Sky Shield, which costs tens of billions of euros, with its long-range missiles Arrow 3.
Please ask your bank, your insurance company and your private pension insurance company whether they have invested your money in Israel without your knowledge.
Each individual can also make a contribution through conscious consumption. McDonalds Israel provides the Israeli occupation soldiers with free meals. Giving up McDonald's burgers is a meaningful act of solidarity. The Hewlett Packard company equips the occupying army with its technical products. Avoid buying hp printers. In Austrian supermarkets you can often find tropical fruits from Israel, e.g. dates and avocados. All imported goods from Israel can be recognized by the barcode number 729.
Boycott and withdrawal of capital were important non-violent levers of the international anti-apartheid movement to overcome racism in South Africa.
If we act decisively in solidarity, we will also succeed in the case of Israel!
